Striker
Consistently performing as one of the very top New Zealand charters boats and holder of several world records, including Yellowtail Kingfish (93lbs), Broadbill Swordfish (739lbs), Striped Marlin (365lbs) and Hammerhead Shark.
Many other notable captures including large Blue and Black Marlin.
Striker is very sea-worthy as proven in several trips to South Pacific Islands and Australia.
After fishing, the boat is very well appointed to make relaxing and reliving the day very easy. This is especially true on over-night trips and is well suited for corporate charters.
Trips away from home-base in the Bay of Islands make for exciting and successful fishing.
The tackle on-board will meet the standards of the fussiest client, and cover most line-weight options. Of course, anglers can use their own tackle, if they wish.
Your skipper: Bruce Smith
Skipper Bruce Smith, (Smithy), is right up amongst the very top of game-boat skippers in New Zealand and year after year, consistently catches more big-game fish for his clients.
Smithy has been a Skipper for over 25 years and many current Skippers in the Bay of Islands, and beyond, learned their trade as deck-hands for Bruce.
His name has been been associated with two of New Zealand's most famous boats, first 'Lady Doreen', and then the first 'Striker' and now the newer 'Striker'.
Smithy skippered the first 'Striker' from its launch, and has run the 'new' Striker since its launch in the late 1990s.
Even a quick glance at Bruce's and Striker's fishing records will confirm why he is held in such high esteem by his peers.
