Dream Streams Trout Fishing
The Central North Island of New Zealand has both Rainbow and Brown trout; Rainbow trout were introduced from California in 1883 and Brown trout from Scotland via Tasmania in 1867.
No one can be certain why trout in New Zealand grow to the size they do. It is most likely a number of conditions: such as unpolluted waters, a lack of natural predators, an abundance of aquatic life and an unpressured existence, that when combined create the New Zealand Fly fishing Experience.
Described as the "Angler's El Dorado" by the American novelist and angler Zane Grey, this unspoiled paradise of the South Pacific has become one of the world's most acclaimed and productive trout fishing regions.
Dream Streams is based at Lake Taupo, on the Central Volcanic Plateau of the North Island, which is an easy 45 minute flight or a leisurely four hour drive south from Auckland.
Dream Streams prides itself on offering top quality guiding services, hospitality andaccommodation at their own Roanoke Lodge.
